Hydrologic and Hydraulic Modeling
We use industry-standard modeling software such as HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS to solve common stormwater management problems but also have the ability to develop custom solutions to more challenging issues.
Floodplain and Wetland Mitigation Studies
Local ordinances, FEMA. and Corps of Engineers regulations dictate that floodplain development be accompanied by a careful analysis of hydraulic and ecologic (e.g., wetlands) impacts. Wilson Engineering has the experience to deal with all related regulatory issues.
SWPPP and SPCC Plans
Relatively new state and Federal regulations require the development and maintenance of Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) and Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasures (SPCC) Plans for industrial facilities. We have the necessary training and experience to work with you to prepare these plans in a cost-effective manner.
Forensic Engineering and Expert Consulting
Extreme hydrologic events are often followed by litigation, as affected parties desire to understand cause and effect (and perhaps assign blame). Forensic engineering involves the collection of pertinent hydrologic and hydraulic data in order to evaluate the relative importance of natural and manmade factors.
Software and Database Development
Wilson Engineering has developed many custom software solutions to water resources and environmental needs. As detailed elsewhere in our website, we've developed significant full-featured modeling and data management applications for Georgia EPD, USEPA, Duke Energy, South Carolina Electric and Gas, and others. In addition, the in-house application called Civil Design System (CDS) was created to perform a large variety of surveying, coordinate geometry, and civil engineering calculations and be completely integrated within AutoCAD.
